Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Larsen's efficient entrance has many of a right mixture for a successful view thriller: copiousness of action, technical fact that would do Tom Clancy proud, and a favourite with roughly superhuman skills. When Christine Palmer, an American alloy sailing solo opposite a Atlantic, retrieves a roughly routine physique of David Slaton in a center of a ocean, Slaton commandeers her tiny vessel and final she broach him to England. A member of Kidon (Mossad's special assassination team), Slaton is a solitary survivor of a boat that sank with a super-secret cargo-a span of unaccounted for chief weapons. Double agents within Mossad wish to kill Slaton before he uncovers their involved tract to use a weapons to criticise Israel's general support. Needless to say, they're shortly after Palmer as well. What's blank is that no character, solely for Palmer, has an middle life.

Ward Larsen's 1st work is good - Has all a components to greatfully only about anyone - Spy thriller, assassins, romance, competition to equivocate disaster, redemption...Larsen's David Slaton reminds me a small of David Silva's Gabriel Allon - both have had personal tragedies in their lives, both are unapproachable of their ancestry, both glorious agents. It also does, as someone referred to, remind me of a Tom Clancy work, though a detailsdetailsdetails - in other difference Perfect Assassin is a finish reader's dream. You will suffer it.

4A earnest entrance novel

By Debra Hamel

Sailing solo opposite a Atlantic westward from France Dr. Christine Palmer, only finished with her third year of residency, pulls aboard a male sticking to a cooler amid a flotsam of a shipwreck. Christine's stumbling opposite a male in a center of a sea is a bit of needle-in-a-haystack good fitness that she comes to wish had never happened. Her astonishing passenger--whose name, we eventually learn, is David Slaton--soon commandeers a vessel and orders her to cruise to England. It is, for Christine, a upsetting start of a harrowing journey that will see a dual of them regulating concurrently from Scotland Yard and from brute elements within a Israeli tip service.

Ward Larsen tells his story from mixed points of view, his principal characters given only adequate behind story to make them sympathetic. Perhaps a many constrained of a lot is a Yard's Inspector Nathan Chatham, initial introduced in section eight, a desirable technophobe who is crafty and quirky adequate to anchor his possess series. It is a pleasure, too, to watch a favourite outmanoeuvre his adversaries regulating a training of a lifetime of use in Mossad. We positively come to like Larsen's characters adequate to wish them to prevail, though it's also loyal that we are never unequivocally done to worry about them. Christine and David are placed in hazard regularly in a book, though we never doubt that they will both come out protected in a end. Part of a reason for this might be that a bad guys never emerge as entirely satisfied characters. There is no flesh-and-blood knave to base against.

Larsen's entrance novel might not container a arrange of torment that will keep we branch a pages too late during night, though it's a plain view novel and a good discerning read. I'll demeanour brazen to saying some-more from this author.
